Sound Design Project

I started off with the footsteps just so I could get them out of the way, but it was taking a really long time to match them up. The sound from online didn't fit the steps and neither did any of the speed up or slow down options in final cut pro so it was taking me a really long time shortening the same clip over and over again to individually match the steps. I watched a video online about changing the timing of sound and figured out how to make the sound a custom length. The rest of the footsteps were really easy to do because I knew how to adjust the timing to whatever length I needed as shown below.

To get all the sounds into final cut pro, I had to copy a youtube video link and paste it into clip grab. Clip grab is so much easier than youtube2mp4 and you don't have to deal with all the adds. The only problem was I wasn't always able to use my first choice of sound effects because there was a weird error that occurred with a couple videos where they wouldn't download. Editing was basically just constant switching between clip-grab, safari, and final cut pro. It took me three/four days to find and edit what I have. If I had a little more time I could probably match up the footsteps a little better and find better sounds.

After I did the basic sound effects like the horse and carriage and paper crumpling, I added some ambient noise of a street that is really quiet, but you can here conversation at some points(I made sure there were no car noises).  The last step was to grab music that fit the film. I think I made a good choice and got lucky with a drop in sound in the song just as the film ended.
