Storyboard
My story board art is really bad but it gets the point across. The shots we had to include in our film were given to us with a lot of flexibility. I took a standard approach for the beginning of the film. The boxes show a person walking into a room and seeing a letter that says death. Then someone else appears with a gun behinds the main character and shoots her. I went off of a normal script at that point. I drew a person's hand in the shape of the gun. The thumb dropping represents the trigger and then I drew a box with just the killers eyes. During the eyes there is a thud from the body hitting the floor. Then the killer hits the light switch close up and the screen goes black.
Filming
I got a t3i camera and 1 light and went out to film with Cassie. We walked to a few locations but ultimately decided on using the room in the center of the library. You can’t turn the lights off in that room so I planned to work with what I had a for lights going off I put my hand right in front of the lens. We only moved a few chairs and the letter around while working. All the shots look about 2 or 3 takes and we went through out shit lists in about 10-15 minutes each. We both acted in each others films and it was a pretty simple process. I changed some of the scenes around into a different order than in my story board and I think it worked better.
Post Production
took me about 5 mins to get all the shots into my library and pick the ones I wanted to use. I made rough cuts on all the shots and put them together. I missed one of the shots when I was uploading to Final Cut Pro so I have to go back and get a close up of a hand hitting a light switch. I’m going to add a cartoon boom for when I fire my finger gun and a thud for when the body drops. I’m also gonna add the cartoon music “dun dun dun” at the end for a more comical effect. Editing didn’t take very long it’s just that I shared the computer with Dan so I didn’t have enough time to add everything I wanted to.
